The Mercedes-Benz EQS electric liftback teaser campaign continues to gain momentum. This time, the Stuttgart manufacturer showed the profile of the new product, which may debut next month.

The fresh photo shows the darkened silhouette of a coupe-like electric car with a collapsed roof and door handles “recessed” for the sake of aerodynamics. An interesting feature that could be seen in the spy shots was the location of the external rear-view mirrors: they are not installed on the A-pillars, but below – on the doors.

Judging by the number of teasers published recently, the premiere of the serial EQS may take place in April. Earlier this week, the German manufacturer talked about the electronic “stuffing” of the liftback, which will include trainable artificial intelligence and a 56-inch “hyperscreen” consisting of three separate displays.

In addition, the novelty will be equipped with a highly efficient air filtration system. According to the developers, thanks to the innovative filters, the HEPA filter (High Efficiency Particulate Arrestance), it is able to make the interior as clean as in the operating room.

There are few technical details yet, but the cruising range is known – it will be 700 kilometers according to the WLTP cycle, like the Vision S show car, presented in 2019. The concept also had express charging capability from a 350-kilowatt terminal, which recharges the battery up to 80 percent in 20 minutes.

This year, the junior sedan will also debut under the EQE index, and in the future it will acquire AMG versions, the indices of which have already been patented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO). According to rumors, the power of “hot” electric cars can reach 1000 horsepower.

At the same time, Mercedes-Benz, which has chosen an electrification strategy, plans to gradually get rid of niche models in order to make room in the lineup for new “battery” cars. The company plans to expand the EQ lineup to six models by 2022. Today it includes three electric vehicles – crossovers EQA and EQC, as well as a minivan EQV.
