Mercedes “walks” hot S-Class

The new generation of the flagship Mercedes-Benz sedan is being tested in the AMG version.

Photospies spotted a novelty on European roads. Camouflage failed to hide the Panamericana’s vertical ribbed grille and extended front air intakes. Both are characteristic of the products of the Mercedes AMG studio. Light camouflage also covered the aft of the S-Class, where there is a new bumper and a pair of double-barreled exhaust pipes.

The edition of Motor1.com assumes that a modification with the S63e index was released for tests. It claims a plug-in hybrid setup that will combine a petrol 4.0 V8 bi-turbo and an electric motor. The tandem will put out about 700 horsepower, which will put the novelty a step above the S580 e hybrid, which entered the market in the summer.

Recall that the junior gasoline-electric S580 e combined a 3.0 inline six and an electric motor built into the nine-speed automatic transmission. Together they produce 510 horsepower and 750 Nm of torque. The drive is only rear. According to the passport, the battery will last for 113 kilometers in the WLTP cycle. The maximum speed is limited to 140 kilometers per hour.

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
