The head of MINI said that the new Cooper hatchback will receive the most extensive exterior update in the last 20 years, but the model will remain true to the brand’s philosophy.
The new generation of MINI Cooper should debut in 2023. The car will receive a seriously redesigned exterior, and the design can be called revolutionary. The head of MINI, Bernd Kerber, in an interview with Autocar, said that the change of appearance will be “a big step – the biggest in the last 20 years.” The brand representative also noted that despite the radical changes, the new Cooper will certainly remain true to the MINI design philosophy.
MINI’s chief designer, Oliver Heilmer, mentioned that the COMPANY’s team was very careful, as working with such design icons as the Porsche 911 or MINI Cooper is always quite difficult, and making major design changes is even more difficult. The debut of the new generation MINI Cooper may be introduced in 2023. It is reported that in addition to versions with traditional internal combustion engines, the model will be available with fully electric power plants.
