Mitsubishi discontinues the supply of new cars in Europe


The Japanese automaker has decided to suspend the release of their new models to the European market. On Monday the official website of Mitsubishi Motors. The realization and maintenance of vehicles of the current model range will continue.

Under the new strategy of the Alliance Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi, all the forces of the concern in the coming years will be focused on the markets of South-East Asia, Australia and New Zealand, where Mitsubishi is one of the leaders of sales, and the cars of the brand are constantly in high demand.


In addition, Mitsubishi has reported a net loss for the 1st quarter of the 2020 fiscal year (April 1 – June 30) in the order of 176 billion yen (about 1.6 billion U.S. dollars). According to the Agency Kyodo, the manufacturer has suffered losses because of falling sales due to pandemic coronavirus.

Along with this, Mitsubishi plans to increase its market share in ACEAH more than 11%, including due to the release of the three new models – SUV, pickup and minivan. Also among the tasks of the manufacturer – to continue to develop fully electric cars and hybrids and reduced annual costs by 20%.
