Tesla CEO Elon Musk made a loud statement that Tesla Model Y will break into the world leaders in sales among cars in the next year or in 2023. To implement these plans, the concern needs to increase demand for Model Y.
The intentions of the electric group seem real, especially when you look at the revenue results this year. Compared to other automakers, Toyota was able to sell 1.1 million Corollas that year. With this result, the brand has taken the leading position among passenger cars in the world. Taking into account the growth in sales of new cars after 2020, affected by COVID, this year the concern may sell 1.1 million Corollas. And Tesla sold 442,000 Model 3 and Model Y that year. However, there are no exact figures regarding the demand for Model Y.
Musk noted that Model Y’s leadership is directly related to the sales proceeds. He expects sales to double this year for Model 3 and Model Y. But even so, Model 3 and Model Y shipments are reaching 663,000 in 2021 and 994,500 next year.
Based on the results of the concern’s work in the first quarter of 2021, Tesla made a profit of $ 438 million, although during this period it also recorded revenue of $ 518 million from the sale of regulatory loans. Another $ 101 million was earned by selling bitcoins.
In the first three months of this year, 184,800 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles went to their new owners.
