Mustang Shelby GT500 will go through the feelings of fans from the 60s

In honor of the 55th anniversary of the original Shelby GT500, the current fastback has a limited edition Heritage Edition. These cars stand out for their exclusive body paint and decor, and will cost customers from $ 75,040 to $ 85,040. Along with the launch of the limited edition, the 2022 Mustang Shelby GT500 also adds a new exterior color, Code Orange, similar to the F-150 Raptor and Ford GT.

To turn a regular Mustang Shelby GT500 into a Heritage Edition, you need to purchase an optional styling package that includes a Brittany Blue metallic paint finish and a Wimbledon White racing stripe. The price depends on how the latter are made. If it’s vinyl (then the stripes can also be Absolute Black), then add $ 2,140 to the price of the car. Painted by hand will cost significantly more, and the final package price will rise to $ 12,140.

Along with the launch of the Heritage Limited Edition, the company has expanded the range of Mustang Shelby GT500 body paints. It now features eight new shades: Atlas Blue Metallic and Brittany Blue Metallic (reserved for GT500 Heritage and Coastal versions), Cyber ‚Äč‚ÄčOrange Metallic three-layer orange, Dark Matter Gray Metallic dark gray, Eruption Green Metallic vintage green, Grabber Blue Metallic blue , Mischievous Purple Metallic, and finally Code Orange (also available for the F-150 Raptor, Ford GT, and in the future for the Bronco Raptor).

In technical terms, everything is unchanged. So, the Mustang Shelby GT500 is still equipped with a compressor V8 5.2 with a capacity of 770 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque. The box is a seven-speed Tremec “robot” with two wet clutches, shifting gears in 80 milliseconds. The engine and transmission control strategy is inspired by racing Fords, and the fastback is equipped with a mode switch with five profiles (there is even for drag racing), MagneRide adaptive dampers and adjustable power steering. MSRP $ 72,900.
