New big crossover from Chery

The Chery company has several sub-brands in its arsenal on the home market, one of which is Jetour. Launched in 2018, the young brand recently has a new large crossover at a low price tag.

The car was named X90 Plus and is a restyled version of the “ninetieth”. At the same time, the novelty will be sold in parallel with its predecessor. “Plus” got other bumpers, a massive radiator grille with horizontal slats, as well as vertically aligned LED sections of the DRL. The headlights of the model inherited from the “older” X95, and the designers combined the rear lights of the car with luminous and chrome stripes.

The length of the vehicle is 4858 mm, the width and height are 1925 mm and 1780 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2850 mm.

In the seven-seater cabin, the displays of the digital instrument panel and the multimedia system were hidden under a single glass. The interior of the crossover differs from the X90 and X95 with a new transmission selector, as well as a different form of airflow deflectors. The climate control unit is fully LED. Already in the basic versions of the X90 Plus will be laid: all-round cameras, cruise control, and in the “top” configuration you can count on wireless charging for a smartphone, adaptive cruise control and lane keeping systems.

Under the hood of the X90 Plus, they installed the same engines that are used in other Jeturas: these are 1.5 and 1.6-liter petrol “supercharged” 4-cylinder engines, producing 156 and 197 horsepower, respectively. A bunch of both will be a six-speed “mechanics” or a robotic transmission with two clutches similar in number of speeds. The drive can only be front.

The prices for the car, traditionally for Jetour models, turned out to be very attractive. For a crossover in the “Celestial Empire” they ask from 101 thousand 900 to 139 thousand 900 yuan, or 15 800 – 21 600 dollars at the current exchange rate. For comparison, the Hyundai ix25 in the Chinese market is priced at 105,800 to 136,800 yuan ($ 16,400 – $ 21,200).

Although it is definitely an unfinished replica, I would be interested in contact details, anyway. Maybe this could be an interesting project.
