Subaru on Wednesday, November 18, demonstrated the second generation sports coupe BRZ.
The new model is equipped with an upgraded chassis and a 2.4-liter 228-horsepower engine. The new engine provides a lower center of gravity and can function together with a 6-speed manual transmission or automatic transmission, which has a new Sport mode that allows you to switch between speeds faster.
The weight of the new BRZ is 1,315 kg, and this was achieved due to the aluminum roof, front fenders and hood. Speaking about the interior of the model, there is a new 7-inch digital dashboard, which can display various information, and a multimedia system with an 8-inch screen and support for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. In turn, expensive sports car configurations will also receive Subaru’s proprietary EyeSight Driver Assist Technology system.
As for the dimensions of the new product, it has become 30 mm longer than its predecessor, the width is similar and lower by 10 mm, and the wheelbase is 2575 mm, which is 5 mm more than the outgoing model. At the same time, the Japanese company has not yet begun to disclose the dynamic indicators of the updated BRZ.
Subaru notes that it will start production of the new BRZ model at its plant in Japan. Sales of the new product should start in the fall of next year.
