Renault has released a special modification of the crossover Dacia Duster, created for Pope Francis. The car is donated to the Catholic Church.
Special crossover was developed by staff specialists Dacia and Romanian coach Romturingia. The vehicle received a large panoramic roof with a special hatch, the traditional removable glass superstructure and a handle on the roof.
The salon has established “a comfortable rear sofa to relax during long public events.” For ease of embarkation and disembarkation of the Pontiff, the ground clearance reduced by 30 millimeters.
At different times in the gift the Pope gave a variety of cars, including expensive super cars. Thus in 2013, Francis said that saddens him when he sees priests who use luxury cars.
The head of the Catholic Church prefers to travel at a relatively modest vehicles. For example, during your visit to Armenia in 2016, the Pontiff went on Dacia Logan, during a visit to Ireland he used the Skoda Rapid, and his arrival to the island of Mauritius had prepared for him a special pickup Nissan NP300.
In 2017 the Lamborghini company gave the Pope a special version of the supercar Huracan. In turn, the Pope blessed the car, signed on the back and handed it to the auction house Sotheby’s. A few months later the car was sold at auction for 715 thousand euros, and the proceeds sent to charity.
