French automaker Citroen has published the first images of the model C4 new generation. It will be presented in two versions: with traditional petrol and diesel engine and electric motor.
Until that information about the novelty, not so much. The model is built on a modular platform CMP, which also underpins the Opel Corsa, Peugeot 208 and 2008 crossover Opel Mokka. At the same time in Citroen refused the usual form factor of the hatchback in favor of a crossover with a sloping roof, decorated with protective plastic covers on the back. The company calls this body “the cross hatchback”.
Probably powerplant, the novelty will borrow from splattermania – they are available with petrol engines 1.2 power from 100 to 155 horsepower, and a diesel 1.5. Eco-friendly version of the Opel and Peugeot are equipped with a 136-electric motors and batteries with a capacity of 50 kilowatt-hours, which provides a cruising range of 340 miles.
Earlier in the line, the C4 was the crossover under the name Cactus, however, the leadership of the brand decided to abandon its release, fully completing the project.
Advertising campaign of the novelty passes under the hashtag #ElectricForAll, which can be translated in this case as “Electric for all” – probably because brand hints at affordable cost model, which is planned as a mass affordable electric car.
The official premiere will take place on 30 June when the brand will reveal detailed information about the model. In Europe, pre-orders for the new generation of C4 will start to take longer this year.
