A few hours ago, the Korean automaker released the first images of the new Staria minivan, which is set to become a global model and will replace the H-1 / Starex in the lineup. But last year, a mysterious model was spotted on tests, which, judging by the nameplate on the stern, will be called Custo. The Beijing Hyundai joint venture is expected to launch the novelty.
Now the first patent images of the new Custo have appeared on the Web. Judging by them, the model will receive a body kit made of unpainted plastic, which was not seen on the car last year. Experts noted that the novelty will be positioned as a cross-van, but it is possible that a cross-version will appear, which the automaker has patented. At the front, you can see a massive grille with chrome fins, combined with LED optics, as well as PTF, which most likely act as navigation lights.
The model’s salon has already been revealed earlier. It will feature a fully digital instrument panel as well as a vertically oriented infotainment system like the second generation Hyundai ix25. In addition, the model will get a steering wheel in the style of the latest Sonata and Elantra and a two-story center tunnel. Custo is expected to be offered in 6 and 7-seat versions.
Under the hood, as expected, will be located “turbo four” T-GDI volume of 2.0 liters. In the new Hyundai Santa Fe, it produces 240 hp. power and 353 Nm of torque. The minivan is probably only front-wheel drive.
