Skoda has launched a website with a countdown to the debut of the fourth generation Fabia: the online premiere will begin on May 4 at 20:00 Kyiv time. At the same time, the automaker has released a new teaser image with the silhouette of the hatchback.
It is known that the next generation Fabia is built on the modular platform MQB-A0 and is larger than its predecessor. Due to the increased size, the hatchback interior has become more spacious, and the trunk is more spacious.
Particular attention was paid to aerodynamics. Thanks to slightly modified body shapes and active flaps on the lower air intake, which automatically open when necessary, the drag coefficient has decreased from 0.32 to 0.28. The new Fabia is promised a digital instrument panel Virtual Cockpit, like the “older” Skoda models, and a large touchscreen multimedia system.
The next Fabia is expected to hit the market with petrol engines ranging from 65 to 150 horsepower, including a top-end 1.5-liter turbo engine paired with a DSG robot.
The fourth generation Skoda Fabia will appear at European dealers in the second half of 2021.
