Maybe Ford was a little late with the commissioning of its extreme supercar, but the wait was worth it, because the new Mustang Shelby GT500 2020 model year will be the most powerful production car brand.
According to official information 5.2-liter turbocharged V8 engine, mounted on Mustang Shelby GT500, will be able to produce 760 horsepower and 847 Nm of torque, working on high-octane gasoline. As a result, it is also “the most powerful V8 engine in the world,” according to Ford.
From the point of view of performance, the model will take place between the 707-horsepower Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat and 791-horsepower Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye. The new Mustang also 110 horsepower more powerful than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
For comparison, one of the most desirable modern supercars McLaren 720S and its 4-liter V8 twin-turbo give “only” 710 horsepower and 770 Nm of torque.
However, Ford has not published data on the acceleration Mustang Shelby GT500 to 100 km/h, but reported that the maximum speed is limited by electronics on a mark of 290 km/h. The engineers will focus on improving aerodynamics, handling and setup of the gearbox with double clutch.
