Ford originally intended to show the new generation of Ranger along with the high-performance Raptor, but in the end, the premiere of the latter was postponed. It will take place on February 22, and in honor of the upcoming event, the company has released a promotional video.
In the video, the Ranger Raptor appears with racing modifications. In particular, a safety cage is mounted in the cabin, there is no trim on the ceiling, and regular bucket seats are replaced. However, all this will not go into the series, and is used only for filming a video. In it, a pickup truck cuts through the sandy track, forcing the upgraded suspension to work to the limit.
The teaser makes it possible to hear the sound of the power unit, and we are once again convinced that the new generation of Ranger Raptor will not be diesel, as it is now, but gasoline. Most likely, the manufacturer will take either the 2.7-liter V6 from the Bronco Raptor, or the 3-liter “six” from the Explorer ST. The current Raptor produces 215 hp. and 500 Nm, but the output in the next generation will increase to at least 400 hp
The flagship Ranger is recognizable by its large Ford lettering grille, flared wheel arches, raised suspension and beefy tires. Fresh spy photos show that the interior will be diluted with red accents on the steering wheel and air vents. The paddle shifters are painted black, although the Bronco Raptor has red paddles. The screen of the infotainment complex has a vertical orientation.
