While the successor generation “cityradio” is available only in the domestic market, in other countries the model will appear next year. It is not excluded that the global version of rename.
In Korea, sales of the new KIA sedan was launched last week, there is a model that other markets known under the name Optima is the K5 index. Now, however, disclosed details about the “world” version. Interestingly, in the release “cityradio” the last generation referred to exclusively K5, and a few days ago, the Network appeared information like global sedan will be renamed. It is not excluded that it happened. At least with Quoris flagship brand, the focus is pulled: after the change of generations it is sold under the index K900.
The exterior design is a global K5/Optima the same as the machines available on the KIA home that is before us sedan “in the style ultimately the newest”. So, the new “chetyrehdverki” is now heavily “cluttered” roof and short trunk and aggressive front bumper and more prominent hood. Led headlights with the “stroke” of the daytime running lights as if integrated into the grille and taillights done in a single line with a “dotted line”. The length of the model increased by 50 mm and 4905 mm, the wheelbase increased by 45 mm to 2850 mm. Width has not changed (1860 mm), height is reduced by 20mm and now is 1445 mm. For the sedan provides 16-, 17 – or 18 – inch wheels.
In addition, the announced “charged” version of the GT with the 19-inch wheels. “Hot” option on signature photo is not yet lit, but earlier in Korea have caught such a car. Among the external features (besides discs) – round dual exhaust pipes.
The interior of the “world” model in the KIA also still has not shown, however, most likely, the salon is the same as the Korean version: inside a new front panel, center tunnel and steering wheel, the “virtual” tidy and multimedia system with a large touchscreen, and switching gears now meets the puck. In terms of technology, perhaps most importantly, the difference lies in the fact that the global version (first model) has a full drive, while in Korea “cityradio” K5 is only front wheel drive.
As intended for home market models, “world” sedan based on a gasoline “aspirated” 2.0 (160 HP, 196 Nm) with distributed injection with two injectors per cylinder and “turboservice” 1.6 T-GDI (180 HP, 265 Nm). Also in some countries of the K5/Optima will be offered with atmospheric engines MPI 2.0 (152 HP, 192 Nm) and 2.5 GDi (194 HP, 246 Nm), plus the hybrid system from the Sonata, including “aspirated” and the 2.0 motor, built-in six-speed “automatic”. On the roof of the K5/Optima Hybrid has a solar battery (hybrid presented in Korea).
Finally, for the “charged” sedan KIA with the GT label claimed 2.5 turbo T-GDi, an outstanding 290 HP and 422 Nm (this motor will have the upcoming Hyundai Sonata N Line). With the engine “cityradio” gain first “hundred” somewhere over 6.6 seconds. K5 model GT with the 2.5 T-GDi has been announced only for the US but probably “hot” version will sell in other countries.
The engines are combined with six – or eight-speed automatic transmission and a 290-horsepower 2.5 T-GDi still can be equipped with the new eight-speed robotic transmission with two wet clutches (8DCT). In addition, the “chetyrehdverki” there is a choice of movement (there are five of them: Smart, Comfort, Eco, Sport and Custom).
In some foreign markets is a KIA sedan will start in the first half of next year.
