The BMW #NEXTGen event continues as the automaker announced plans to introduce the MINI Vision Urbanaut next week – November 17.
The company is keeping the details under wraps. At the same time, the press center confirmed that the concept will be an electric vehicle with “a completely new vision of space.” MINI didn’t go into much detail, but released a colorful teaser image. Judging by the photo, the interior of the concept will look like a salon. You can see a large window and sofa seats with two-tone upholstery, as well as blue contrasting stitching.
The teaser isn’t very revealing, it suggests that the Vision Urbanaut could be an Autonomous electric vehicle or even an Autonomous Shuttle. This remains unconfirmed, but MINI States that the model “will cause admiration”.
Regardless of what the MINI planned, it seems that the Vision Urbanaut is not the kind of car that was teased about in yesterday’s pseudo-documentary Chasing iNext. The series provided a brief overview of what is considered an Electric GP, as it featured sketches of a sporty three-door hatchback that closely resembled the John Cooper Works GP. The model also has yellow accents and aerodynamic wheels, like the electric Cooper SE.
Photospies have captured Electric GP in the real world. These photos showed that the model will have a completely closed grille, as well as a missing exhaust system. Previous reports indicated that the car received a green light. It will be equipped with an upgraded version of the Cooper SE transmission.
