A2 restrictions in Europe and the UK create interesting opportunities for manufacturers to lower performance in order to reach wider consumers. A prime example is the 2021 Suzuki GSX-S950, based on the popular GSX-S1000. The motorcycle will begin shipping to the UK in August.
The GSX-S950’s 999cc engine produces 94bhp, which is well below 150bhp. the original GSX-S1000. In addition, the GSX-S950 may be limited to 47 hp for A2 license holders. The S950 model can operate in three modes and is equipped with electronic gas control.
In addition to the derated engine, the 2021 Suzuki GSX-S950 features Tokico calipers (instead of Brembo on the S1000), budget KYB fork, straighter steering wheel and Dunlop Roadsport 2 tires.
