New Nissan Qashqai that debuts later this year, will be offered with a hybrid system Nissan e-Power.
In an interview to foreign publications at the opening of the new all-electric Ariya chief operating officer of Japanese brand Ashwani Gupta said that the Qashqai will come to Europe with e-Power is one of the most promising technologies of the brand.
In Europe we have e-Power, and we will have battery electric vehicles – here we define our technology, – said a top Manager.
E-Power uses a combustion engine as a generator to charge the battery, which then drives the electric motor via the inverter. Thus, model E-power, such as Note, which is currently sold in Japan, resemble the characteristics of electric vehicles, while offering a fuel consumption similar to the consumption of full hybrid models.
It is expected that the new Qashqai, which has already passed the test will appear at the end of this year and will be available in 2021. The version with the e-Power will probably be available soon after the launch of a conventional crossover. It is also possible to run the hybrid plug-in Qashqai technology partner Mitsubishi Alliance.
Gupta also hinted that new Ariya was only the beginning for a number of new electric cars Nissan. On the question of whether the platform Ariya to change their sizes under different classes of cars, he replied in the affirmative.
Earlier it became known that the specific crossover of Nissan Juke may be all-electric at some stage, unlike competing cars from Volkswagen. The German giant has confirmed that its models Polo and Golf will never be fully electrified and will cease to exist on the markets where can be sold only electric cars.
