Nissan will save on a new crossover X-Trail of atmospheric petrol 2.5-liter engine, but after the change of generations the power unit will be more powerful than 10 horsepower and gain fuel economy, according to the American edition Cars Direct.
American journalists managed to find out details about the engine range of the new Nissan Rogue (known to us under the name X-Trail) from the internal documents of the Japanese brand, designed for corporate clients.
In the technical documentation stated that the SUV will retain under the hood is a proven 2.5-liter naturally aspirated engine, but the unit is waiting for modernization: the impact will increase to 182 horsepower, while torque is up to 249 Nm. This is 10 horsepower and 12 Nm more than the current-generation models.
It is argued that the modified unit will not only be more flexible and more powerful but also more economical: passport fuel consumption in the combined cycle will decrease from 8.1 liters to 7.8 liters per 100 kilometers. No evidence that the new Rogue will get a rechargeable hybrid propulsion system from the Outlander PHEV yet: the gasoline-electric modification of the crossover will debut in Europe and in the U.S. sales will begin with only 2.5 engine.
Premiere of the new generation Nissan X-Trail/Rogue is not far off: original wraps a crossover planned in April, but because of the pandemic coronavirus debut postponed at least until Aug. Gradually, the journalists will learn more details about the new product three weeks ago in the press leaked official photos of the interior and exterior.
