The KCB reports that the KIA Sportage for the European market will appear not in July, as a long version, but only in September of this year.
The fourth generation Hyundai Tucson crossover has two modifications: with a standard wheelbase and also with a slightly lengthened one. In the latest version, by the way, the crossover is also presented on the Ukrainian market. The new KIA Sportage crossover will have a similar story.
A few days ago, KIA shared the official images of the updated Sportage. It is believed that they show a modification with an extended wheelbase of about 4.63 meters, which is intended for the South Korean and US markets. At the same time, according to preliminary information, the Sportage crossover for the European market will be shorter than the long version: about 4.5 meters. Such a modification will not appear in July, as an extended version, but only in September of this year.
The new generation of KIA Sportage will repeat the soplatform Tucson in terms of power plants, so a 1.6 T-GDI gasoline engine with a capacity of 150 hp is expected in the engine lineup. and a 115-horsepower CRDi diesel unit: the crossover with these engines will have front-wheel drive. The same powertrains can be ordered with a 48-volt starter-generator (“soft” hybrid), in which case their power will be higher: the T-GDI – about 180 hp, the CRDi – 136 hp. the all-wheel drive system will also be available. The plug-in hybrid will be the latest in the lineup: roughly late 2021 or early 2022.
