New Suzuki XL7: Crossman is the seven-seat SUV

Suzuki is preparing for the premiere of another three-row compact MPV. The novelty is intended primarily for wealthy Asian markets.

Console XL7 once wore seven-seat version of the SUV Grand Vitara. Then the index inherited the Suzuki crossover, the closest relative of which was the Chevrolet Equinox first generation. Now the name XL7 went to the cross version of the compact MPV Ertiga last generation: a new modification caught in Indonesia, her pictures published in the local Olx.

Crosswan debuted last year in India, but there he is called XL6. The fact that in the Indian market, this car has only six-seater cabin, with two captain’s chairs in the second row. In Indonesia the “crossover”, as the original Ertiga will be offered with seven seats.

Judging by the photos, looks Indonesian ven copies of his Indian brother, the only difference in the disks. But the differences from “just” Ertiga quite a lot: the cross-version was not only due to her protective kit, but also other grille and headlights, the roof appeared the roof rails. Length increased from 4395 to 4445 mm, the wheelbase has not changed – 2740 mm ground clearance from the Indian XL6 – the same 180 mm, that of the standard model XL7 although it could increase.

The engine probably went with the standard Suzuki Ertiga in Indonesia, the MPV is available with petrol “aspirated” K15B 1.5 liters 105 HP (138 Nm), which is paired with a five-speed “mechanics” or four-stage “automatic”. The Indian Ertiga vans and XL6 same motor, but it in addition has a hybrid appendage in the form of a starter generator. Drive the same in either case, only the front.

According to preliminary data, the official premiere of the Suzuki XL7 will be held in late January – early February of this year. In Indonesia, the main competitor of new items will be Mitsubishi Xpander Cross. Later, the seven-seater Suzuki crosswan will probably appear in other affluent Asian markets.
