With the help of drones, it was possible to film the tests of the Tesla Semi electric truck. A short video was posted on the Sawyer Merritt YouTube channel. According to the author of the video, the tests were carried out at the company’s plant in Nevada.

In the video, you can see how the Tesla Semi electric truck accelerates, brakes, and also turns around. Moreover, the author of the video claims that this plant has already launched small-scale production of Tesla trucks. We can talk about a small batch of cars that are intended for PepsiCo. Earlier, the head of this concern, Ramon Laguarta, said that his company will receive electric trucks in the fourth quarter of 2021. However, the full-fledged serial production of Semi should start only in 2023.

According to the head of Tesla, Elon Musk, the Semi electric truck will be able to travel up to 1,000 kilometers on a single charge. According to him, such results will be achieved through the use of modernized batteries and advanced technologies. At the same time, Tesla previously provided other characteristics, then it was reported that in the standard version Tesla Semi will be able to travel up to 500 kilometers, and in the top-end version – up to 800 kilometers.

The truck is expected to be powered by four electric motors. According to preliminary information, Tesla Semi, the truck will be able to accelerate from standstill to 100 km / h in 5 seconds, and with a trailer weighing 40 tons – in 20 seconds. However, there is no official confirmation of this information yet.

Recall that the premiere of the Tesla Semi electric truck prototype took place back in November 2017. After that, the start of serial production of the model was postponed more than once.
