The coupe-like version of ID.4 will debut in a few months in two versions at once – ID.5 and ID.5 GTX
German Volkswagen has revealed some details about the new ID.5 electric crossover, according to topelectricsuv.com.
The upcoming car is just a coupe-like version of the existing ID.4 crossover and is marketed as a sports car. Her debut will take place in a few months, so new data about the model are gradually becoming public.
The ID.5 is reported to have a range of 540 kilometers (WLTP). The more powerful twin-engine ID.5 GTX will be able to travel a little less on a single charge – 497 km. Alas, no other characteristics have yet been revealed.
Let us remind you that according to the original plans of the brand, the debut of ID.5 should take place in the second half of this year. Presumably in October – December, but no specific dates. Initially, the model will be sold only in Europe and China. The American market is not yet a priority for the brand, so before 2022 this car can not be expected there. However, it cannot be ruled out that the production of ID.5 may well be established in the USA at the plant in Chattanooga, where it is planned to produce a similar crossover ID.4.
It is expected that the cost of the upcoming novelty will start at 40 thousand euros. The main competitors are Tesla Model Y and Nissan Ariya.
