Nissan has released a video showing e-4ORCE proprietary all-wheel drive technology on the new Ariya electric crossover. The car was driven on a track in Monaco.
The video begins with the crossover moving through the mountainous terrain of southern France, after which the car appears on the streets of Monte Carlo. Ariya is later joined by the DAMS team’s electric Formula E car, and the cross follows the faster race car.
“Ariya’s public check-in on the streets of Monaco is a great way to experience the power of our e-4ORCE technology,” says Arnaud Charpentier, Vice President of Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe and Oceania.
e-4ORCE technology allows electric motors to balance thrust to the wheels of the car. In other words, it provides predictable handling when one or more wheels of an electric car may spin.
The single-engine version of the Ariya cross is equipped with a 215-horsepower power unit, the all-wheel drive twin-engine has a total output of 389 horsepower. The battery with a capacity of 65 kW / h provides a range of 360 km, the battery with a capacity of 90 kW / h – 480 km.
In Japan, sales of electric cross-country will begin in the summer of 2021 at a price of 5 million yen (approximately $ 45,800). The model will hit other major automotive markets at the end of the year.
