Nissan will revive the iconic Silvia coupe

Renders of the revived Nissan Silvia, which are expected to receive an all-electric powertrain, have surfaced online. Japan’s Best Car reports that the brand’s management has decided to return to the market one of its legendary models, which was “ahead of its time”. According to rumors, the novelty will be prepared within the framework of the Pure EV Silvia Revival project. The premiere of the iconic battery coupe is not expected until 2025.

Based on the renders, the upcoming electric Nissan Silvia is inspired by the first-generation coupe that debuted at the 1964 Tokyo Motor Show. This is evidenced by the vertical lines separating the upper and lower parts of the body, as well as similar bifurcated headlights and narrow lights. There are no other details of the future project yet. The model is not expected to arrive until 2025.

According to rumors, the Silvia revival was initiated by the vice-president of Nissan Design Europe Matthew Weaver. According to him, the design of the coupe was ahead of its time, and also allowed the model to look spectacular on the roads to this day. In addition, the executive said that the conversion of the iconic model to electric traction will be a great example of a modern global product.

At the beginning of last year it was reported that Peugeot would completely switch the 208 hatchback and 2008 crossover to electric traction. However, the next generation of models may receive different names.
