The company Nissan has published the first teaser of a new small crossover, which will develop primarily for the Indian market. It is expected that car sales will begin in September 2020.
The new crossover, whose length does not exceed four meters, will be built on a modular platform CMF-A, Renault and developed by Nissan. Thus, the model will share most major components and assemblies with the Renault Kwid. This suggests that the car will be available exclusively with front-wheel drive.
In the range of engines will include new forced three-cylinder petrol unit working volume of 1 l, which can be paired with a five-speed manual transmission or a CVT.
Earlier it became known that the Nissan in the next 18 months will completely revamp its lineup of crossovers for the European market. Thus, until mid-2021 Nissan will issue a replacement or successor of all its models in the SUV class. After about six months, appears X-Trail next generation, and later will debut a new Qashqai.
In addition, Nissan plans included the development of a new electric crossover for Europe, which will create on motives of the concept car Ariya, shown in October at the Tokyo motor show. The car-sized X-Trail model can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in less than five seconds, and a set of batteries will allow to pass without recharging up to 480 km.
