Nissan X-Trail received a new 3-cylinder engine

By 2022, Nissan has updated the popular Rogue SUV for the US market, which is sold in Ukraine under the name Nissan X-Trail. The new engine promises best-in-class fuel economy and torque.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine Auto with reference to the press service of Nissan.

Nissan Rogue for 2002 received a three-cylinder VC-Turbo unit with turbocharging. According to the Japanese automaker, the new 1.5-liter engine develops 201 hp. and 305 Nm of torque, respectively 11% and 24% more than the 2.5-liter unit in the 2021 model.

In addition, the 3-cylinder engine with new textured valve lifters and stainless steel cylinder bore liners provides best-in-class fuel economy.

Thanks to the VC-Turbo’s ability to continuously adjust the compression ratio, “optimizing power and efficiency”, the engine delivers 1.28 kilometers more per liter of fuel than its predecessor.

Significantly, the new engine is being assembled at the brand’s powertrain plant in Decherd, Tennessee. This simplifies logistics.

Among other things, the Xtronic transmission was also upgraded, which reduced friction by 32%, which also contributed to improved efficiency.

The updated SUV has slightly risen in price compared to its predecessor, prices in the US start at $ 26,700. The 2022 Nissan Rogue will go on sale this winter.
