On the European sites of Volvo, photos of the updated XC40 were found, although the company did not officially announce the restyling. The crossover, which has been in production for about five years, has quietly survived the planned facelift: the changes have affected the exterior and are of a point nature, and the latest version of the multimedia system has appeared in the cabin. The list of modifications remained the same – the XC40 is presented on the global market with gasoline, plug-in hybrid and all-electric power plants.
The XC40 has been updated in the style of the Volvo C40 Recharge: the cars now have similar headlights with narrow headlights, a new front bumper with T-shaped side sections, a different “stuffing” in the rear lights and a different location of the exhaust pipes.
In the entry-level version, the XC40 is equipped with a 1.5-liter petrol “turbo” with 129 horsepower, an eight-speed automatic and front-wheel drive. In Europe, “mild hybrid” versions are also available with a 48-volt starter-generator and a 2.0-liter turbo engine in several boost options, 163, 197 and 250 forces. Drive – front or full (for a 197-horsepower crossover this is an option, and for a 250-horsepower crossover it is standard equipment).
You can also buy a crossover in Europe with a full hybrid installation and a recharging function. There are two such versions, for 129 and 180 horsepower. The power reserve on one electricity in both cases is 45 kilometers.
Finally, the all-electric XC40 is equipped with either one 231-horsepower electric motor on the front axle or two 204-horsepower, one on each of the axles. The single-engine crossover has a 69 kilowatt-hour battery with a charge of 423 kilometers, and the twin-engine crossover has a 78 kilowatt-hour battery (the power reserve is 418 kilometers).
