Kiev has canceled paper tickets in public transport. Since July 14, the city has switched to electronic.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the press service of the Kiev City Administration.
“Kiev became the first city in Ukraine to completely abolish paper coupons for travel in municipal public transport. From July 14, the final will go out of circulation coupons, which could be purchased from conductors. All trips in public transport are now digitalized into electronic tickets “, – informed the Kyiv City State Administration.
To use public transport, you can purchase a transport card or buy a QR ticket at:
- e-ticket self-service terminals;
- Easy Pay terminals;
- at the stations of the Kiev metro;
- in the Kiev Digital application.
The Kyiv city administration hopes that it will now be easier to keep track of the trips of passengers, including those with benefits, and reimburse carriers for their actual costs.
“Thanks to the transition to electronic tickets, the city will be able to better control the operation of transport, its quantity and congestion on the routes. And having a complete picture, it will improve the quality of access to public transport for residents and guests of the city,” it said.
