Toyota has expanded its fifth-generation RAV4 crossover lineup with an off-road performance model called the Adventure. The novelty received a redesigned exterior and interior, and also retained the hybrid power plant. The special edition car will be on sale in the European market in the first quarter of 2022.
In the updated Toyota RAV4 Adventure, Japanese engineers have retained the brand’s corporate identity, adding the “off-road spirit” model. So, the crossover received a completely black radiator grille of a modified design, as well as a different location of the emblem, which is located on double horizontal stripes. The image of the front end of the model is complemented by the dark edging of the front fog lamps, which, like the head optics, have become fully LED.
The crossover is available for the first time with a unique two-tone body paint, combining the basic dark green Urban Khaki color scheme with the roof, A-pillars and rear spoiler, painted in Dynamic gray, which is a reference to the light roof of the classic Toyota FJ40. In addition, the car’s image is complemented by new 19-inch wheels with a matte gray finish and flared arches. The interior of the crossover is made of black eco-leather with contrasting orange stitching. Specialists have developed new LED lighting especially for the interior of the model.
The RAV4 Adventure is powered by a hybrid power plant based on a 2.5-liter gasoline engine, supplemented by two electric motors. The combined output is 222 horsepower. In addition, already in the “base” the crossover has received an intelligent AWD-i all-wheel drive system. Sales of the updated Toyota RAV4 Adventure will start in Europe in early 2022.
At the end of June, the Australian office of Toyota announced the imminent update of the fifth generation RAV4 crossover. The facelifted Toyota RAV4 is expected to arrive in Australia in early 2022.
