According to official information, the company has invested more than 1.1 billion euros in the development of the hatchback, as well as in the modernization of production capacities. No wonder, because Leon is the most selling model of the brand (the third generation of cars sold was 2.2 million). As stated by the brand new seat Leon is aimed at “reviving the compact segment.”
5-door hatchback has increased in length by 86 mm (4368 mm), while wheelbase has added 50 mm (2686 mm). The width and height, on the contrary, decreased: 1800 mm 1456 mm, ie 16 mm and 3 mm, respectively. As for the wagon Leon ST, its length is also increased: 4642 mm by 93 mm bigger than before. The boot capacity of the hatch is about 380 l (unchanged), but the rate of wagon in this discipline increased: 617 l vs 587 the third generation.
Inside, as you might expect, the Leon is very similar to his “brother” of concern VAG, that is Volkswagen Golf. But don’t copy it. Touch display media are not integrated into a single unit with a virtual instrument panel, and stand separately. The vents of the climate system are much higher and the allocated banding (unlike Golf where they are “hidden” in the overall architecture panel). But the selector lever, is designed as a joystick, also went to Spanish and hecto.
Standard touch screen display media is equal to 8.5 inches, while the SEAT provides the Digital Cockpit is already 10.25 inches. The toolbar is a 10-inch display capable of displaying 3D navigation. The entire system can be controlled by voice and gestures. Of course, the smartphone can be connected via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, it is possible to download a branded app and control some vehicle functions remotely. Optionally available and wireless charging.
European gamma engines include petrol, diesel, hybrid versions (soft and plug-in) and version gas. T: 1.0-litre 90 and 110 forces (three-cylinder motor, first installed on a Leon), a 1.5-liter 130 and 150 strength, 2.0-liter 190. The 2.0-liter TDI produces either 115 or 150 forces. The version on the TGI gas gives 130 strength.
For hybrid installations, the “mild” hybrid with 48-volt system will have a version eTSI 1.0-liter and 1.5-liter engine. The return of 110 and 150 forces, respectively (exclusively equipped with DSG). Version plug-in comes with a 13-kilowatt battery, which is capable of providing Autonomous 60 km (WLTP cycle). Returns a 1.4-liter T and electric motor is 204 power.
But it is in Europe. On the Ukrainian market the new SEAT Leon will come, most likely closer to the fall, and that is very important with engines that will not be available for the Ukrainian version of the Golf. That is, we get Leon c 1.5-liter T and DSG (DQ200), as well as the turbo version. In addition, the promise that Ukraine will bring the hybrid.
We will remind that on the Ukrainian market VW Golf 8th generation will come with a 1.4-liter T and classic 8-stubachtal automatic transmission, diesel versions are not yet available.
