The company Opel presented the Corsa electric-e Rally, which could be considered as the world’s first rally car on a “battery.” The public debut of the novelty will take place as part of the September motor show in Frankfurt.
It seems that the teaser of this new Opel published this morning. Yellow accents on the tyres are the same. Rally Corsa-e Rally is built on the basis of “civil” of electric cars. The novelty will take part in a series of e ADAC Opel Rally Cup in 2020, which will replace the current Opel Adam R2. The structure of the power plant includes an electric motor that produces 136 HP and 260 Nm of peak torque. Battery left from the “civilian” version with a capacity of 50 kWh. Dynamic characteristics are not reported. Usual Corsa-e accelerates from zero to “hundred” for 8.1 seconds.
According to the head of the company Michael Larzelere, Opel became the first automaker that has developed on the basis of a production model electric car rally. Electric Corsa-e is a machine for everyone. It is fully adapted for everyday use and for participation in sports races. The dynamics of the new Corsa will provide the driver maximum driving pleasure.
Along with rally-specific modifications of the Opel Corsa-e Rally got a limited-slip differential Torsen. To participate in the rally e ADAC Opel Rally Cup is planned to produce 15 copies. The price of each will not exceed EUR 50 000.
