Italy’s Pagani has unveiled a track-focused version of the Huayra R in a new teaser. We are shown the rear silhouette of the “track monster” that will receive a powerful V12.
More than 12 years ago, the Italian automaker introduced the Zonda R, which was a racing version of the regular Zonda supercar. It was one of the finest Pagani cars ever, and you cannot drive on public roads, only on race tracks.
Pagani plans to show the successor to the Zonda R. The press service of the brand has published a teaser showing the silhouette of the rear of the novelty.
“About 13 years later, we are about to write a new chapter of this journey … follow us,” reads the accompanying text.
While not explicitly mentioned, this upcoming Pagani will likely carry the name Huayra R – this car was originally announced last October by Horatio Pagani himself. The Huayra R is the track-focused version of the regular Pagani Huayra.
As seen in the image above, it looks like the Huayra R will come with a massive rear wing to maximize downforce. Most likely, it will also receive the same aerodynamic body kit that comes with all Pagani’s intended for serious racing.
Information about the Huayra R is scarce at the moment, but the latest teaser from Italy showed the supercar’s engine along with the great sound of its V12 screaming in the background. According to previous reports, the Pagani Huayra R will come with an naturally-aspirated AMG V12 engine that will produce over 900 horsepower and revs up to 9,500 rpm.
