According to the results of the first eight months of this year, car sales in the world amounted to 54 million 479 thousand units (+ 17.7%), according to statistics from the consulting company LMC Automotive.
China remains the world leader in the sale of new cars in August 2021, with an indicator of 1 million 814 thousand cars sold, which is 14.5% less than a year ago. In second place is the United States, where 1,087,000 new cars were sold, which is 17.6% less than in August last year.
Automotive markets in Western Europe in August fell by 20.5% and amounted to 722.5 thousand cars. Sales of new cars in Eastern Europe amounted to 308.6 thousand units (-7.5%). In South America, sales last month reached 187.3 thousand vehicles, down 7.6% year-on-year.
Among the world’s largest car markets, it is also worth noting Japan (316.2 thousand units, -1.8%), Canada (148 thousand units, -12.1%) and Korea (127.6 thousand units). ., -4.2%).
