German automaker Volkswagen plans to launch the updated, second generation Lamando four-door coupe on sale. This model was first introduced back in 2014 in China. In the model lineup, Lamando sits below the VW Passat. Despite the fact that the manufacturer considers Volkswagen Lamado to be a compartment version, the car body has a classic design. The car itself is built on the basis of the MQB architecture (photo: autohome.com.cn).
On the eve, pictures of an unknown car from Volkswagen appeared on the Web, on which, according to their author, it is the second generation of the Lamando compartment that is depicted. By the way, the “spy” photos show that the next generation of the German car can really be attributed to the compartment version. The fact is that the updated model received side struts piled back. In addition, it is striking that the new generation has acquired frameless doors, which were not intended for the current version of the car. This says that it can be performed in the form of a liftback.
Nothing is known about the dimensions of the new item. Judging by the photos, after the update VW Lamando will increase in size. For reference, it can be noted that the current generation has such body parameters – 4615x1826x1425 mm, and its center distance is 2656 mm. The luggage compartment for the current model has a volume of 480 liters.
Also, nothing is known about the technical capabilities of the updated Lamado. The current version provides for the installation of a 1.4-liter turbo engine, which can produce 131 or 150 horsepower. The 7-speed “robot” is the only transmission option available. According to representatives of the Chinese media, the updated version of the Volkswagen Lamado will debut on the market this year. So far, nothing has been said about the price of the new item. The rival of the model on the market is the Toyota Camry sedan.
