BMW has tested the restyled X7 crossover at the Nurburgring. Spy photos of the novelty were posted by Carscoops. The exact date of the car’s premiere is still unknown. According to unofficial data, it will take place no earlier than the beginning of 2022.
In the spy shots, the large crossover is partially hidden under camouflage film. On the prototype, you can see the headlights of an unusual shape, although it is not known whether the serial version of the model will receive the same optics. Also, the car will receive a branded radiator grille with large “nostrils”, which will slightly increase in size, as well as LED lights with new graphics.
No major changes are expected in the technical part of X7. According to unofficial data, the model may lose a three-liter diesel engine. Also, the Bavarians can remove the powerful V12 gasoline unit from the range of engines. At the same time, the crossover will receive a new hybrid version codenamed M45e. All details about this modification are kept secret for now.
