The EQS electric sedan was introduced in April, but its crossover sibling is still hiding under camouflage. In another series of spy photos, the lowered window of the prototype allowed the spy photographers to look into the salon.
Since the EQS sedan debuted globally, we know that the two flagship electric vehicles of the German brand will have common features. These new spy photos of the Mercedes EQS electric SUV confirm this.
The exterior of the test car is still covered in camouflage film and fake panels, not to mention the tail lights. However, now that the sedan’s exterior is no longer a secret, we see a very similar design of the grille and headlights on an SUV.
And now we also know that the rectangular cutout on the fender is almost certainly the place to fill the windshield washer fluid. However, the more important aspect of this photo shoot is the interior.
Camouflage in the most interesting places still interferes with seeing the interior in detail, but some conclusions can be drawn.
So, we see almost the same cockpit layout as in the EQS sedan. There is a virtual tidy and a large multimedia touchscreen, and experts also predict the presence of a separate screen for the passenger under the cover on the far side.
The Germans can organize the debut of the SUV at the end of this year or in the first half of next year as a 2023 model. In total, the automaker is going to have 10 electric cars in its portfolio by the end of 2022.
