Automobili Pininfarina is preparing to show the first production example of the Battista electric hypercar. The “commodity” coupe will be presented at Automotive Week in Monterey, which starts on August 6, and the production of two-doors will begin before the end of summer. The three teasers, which the company decided to use to stir up public interest, show a black carbon body veil and Impulso wheels with a glossy black finish.
Pininfarina has not yet shared photos of the salon, but noted that the interior was finished in black eco-leather with contrasting blue Iconica Blu stitching. Alcantara seat upholstery with unpainted carbon fiber inserts in the same blue color.
The most powerful Italian car, first presented in 2019, is equipped with a four-engine power plant from the Croatian Rimac C_Two / Nevera. It develops 1900 horsepower and 2300 Nm of torque, accelerating Battista from zero to the first “hundred” in less than two seconds, and up to 300 kilometers per hour – in 12 seconds. The maximum speed is limited to 350 kilometers per hour. The motors are powered by a 120 kilowatt-hour battery that provides up to 500 kilometers of travel without recharging.
The circulation of the hypercar is limited to 150 copies, and the pre-order is already open – the price starts at $ 2.2 million. Each Battista will be unique, as the atelier has almost limitless customization options for clients.
Five of the 150 electric cars belong to the Anniversario special series, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the Pininfarina body shop, which today belongs to the Indian Mahindra Group. A jubilee Berlinetta with a livery that recalls the firm’s heritage will also be presented in the United States, with a live premiere at the Concours d’Elegance starting August 12.
