This is truly the end of an era, and this is the last time we’ll see a naturally aspirated V12 do its job.

The Lamborghini Aventador is no longer available to order. Named after the Spanish fighting bull, this Italian supercar has been around for almost a decade and has been sold in many configurations, including the Aventador S, Aventador SVJ and Aventador Ultimae. The Ultimae is officially the last Aventador, but Lamborghini has pledged that the V12 engine will find its continuation in future models such as the Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4, which will use hybrid technology.

The Aventador, which debuted at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, replaced the beloved Murcielago. After ten years of production, it should be replaced by the end of 2022 or early 2023 and promises to get an all-new V12 engine paired with a hybrid powertrain of sorts. Lamborghini says the Lamborghini Ultimae will continue to ship until the end of 2022, but the order books are now officially closed.

The Aventador was an impressive product in its day, with over 5,000 Aventador LP700-4 Coupes and Roadsters sold between 2011 and 2016 alone, surpassing Lamborghini’s target of 4,000 vehicles. The LP700-4 was eventually replaced by the Aventador S LP740-4 and was also offered in the SV version between 2015 and 2017 in 600 hardtops and 500 roadsters.

After 2016, the S version became the base model, and in 2018 Lamborghini began production of the Aventador SVJ, of which only 900 were built in coupe form and 800 in roadster form. Even more special were the SVJ 63 Coupe and Roadster, of which only 63 were built.

The latest version of the Aventador, the Ultimae, is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine producing 769 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. This is 10 hp. more than SVJ. The car weighs just 1,550 kg thanks to the use of carbon fiber, accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in just 2.8 seconds and has a top speed of 354 km / h. Only 350 coupes and 100 Ultimae roadsters will be released, and prices start at $ 600,000.
