For the company’s flagship Skoda liftback will be the first model with version plug-in hybrid PHEV. Power unit from the Passat GTE includes turbo petrol 1.4 TSI with an output of 154 HP and one electric motor with 114 HP, which is paired with the DSG. Total capacity is 215 horsepower.
According to an insider, Skoda Superb PHEV will have a cruising range of electric traction 70 kilometers. It is 20 km more than the Passat GTE. This is due to the fact that Skoda will offer a bigger battery capacity of 13 kWh.
As stated by Martin Hrdlicka, head of the development Department of the power plant of Skoda, the average fuel consumption will be 1.6 liters per 100 kilometers. Also the Superb PHEV may be more environmentally friendly German fellow. Recall that the Passat GTE with such a hybrid setup accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 220 km/h.
In the future plug-in hybrid powerplant may also be used in other Skoda models. The closest candidate is the crossover Kodiaq. A more simplified version will get a younger model — Karoq and Octavia. However, everything will depend on the analysis of the demand and expectations of consumers on the market.
In the future expect from Skoda release a fully electric car, based on future electric vehicle Volkswagen ID, which will start production late next year.
