Swedish electric car Polestar 2 will now be available in a version with one engine – this version of the model will reduce the cost of an electric car. The power of one electric motor for the single-engine versions of Polestar 2 has been increased to 231 hp.
Polestar 2 Launch Edition is now on sale. Compared to the exclusive Polestar 1, the novelty aims to be something like Polestar’s mass-market electric vehicle. To make this happen, Polestar has announced an additional two new EV variants, among other things, will be able to offer customers a lower price.
A single-engine version of the Polestar 2 will be available soon, with an electric motor driving the front wheels.
The lack of a rear electric motor means a loss of power (we are talking about 408 hp) compared to the Launch Edition, which has two electric motors, but the remaining engine will boast 231 horsepower. The single-engine Polestar 2 will be equipped with the same 78 kWh batteries, providing a range of 418.43 km on a fully charged battery.
The second version of the electric car is intended for those who want to buy a twin-engine version of the electric car, but all those functions that are present in the exclusive Launch Edition are simply not needed. Power remains at 408 hp, but many different options are available to buyers. In particular, the Pilot Pack, which includes driver assistance systems and active / passive safety systems, Performance Pack, which allows you to select the suspension and braking system modes.
Not so long ago, our publication wrote that Polestar 2 electric cars were being recalled again due to engine shutdown. Due to defective software, the owners of these cars may experience loss of traction, which can occur while driving.
