Thomas Ingenlat has hinted on social media about the mysterious prototype of the new Polestar 2 electric sedan.
Polestar 2 not only appeared in showrooms – at the end of February, owners received the first wireless updates. The all-electric brand announced last week that the “Tesla Model 3 rival” will receive a new Harmon Kardon speaker system. And, apparently, another announcement is not far off. Polestar CEO Thomas Ingenlath posted on Instagram what appears to be a “hotter” version of Polestar 2.
The photos show a prototype electric sedan with large 21-inch four-spoke wheels that appear to be borrowed directly from the Polestar 1 plug-in hybrid coupe, as such wheels are not currently available for the Polestar 2. The vehicle’s ground clearance is also decreased by more than 2.5 cm.
Notice the new fender flares and body-colored lower trim, which looks great with the contrasting black roof and side mirror housings. One of the published images shows a close-up of a wheel with large brake discs and Brembo calipers. In hashtags, Ingenlath listed “Akebono”, “Brembo”, “Experiment”, “prototype” and “tuning”. The caption in the second post reads “PS2BST 1 (7)”, and it is not yet clear what that means.
The existing Polestar 2 model already has 408 horsepower and 660 Nm of torque, and the acceleration time to 100 km / h is just 4.1 seconds. The company has already confirmed that it is preparing a production version of the Precept concept. Like the Polestar 2, this will be a fully battery-electric model, but high-performance versions of all Polestar models would be a great addition to the lineup.
