The recall campaign applies to select Taycan and Panamera models sold in the United States. The recall of local motorists was warned by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
In the US, the owners of Porsche Panamera and Taycan, whose cars are on the list of problematic cars, will have to send their Porsches for repair. The reason is in the suspension, or rather, in one of its levers, which can break and fail.
The German automaker was warned of a malfunction in this important unit back in mid-March, when it became known about three cars with broken trailing arms. Following an investigation, Porsche discovered that due to supplier manufacturing issues, the front lower trailing arms may not have been forged to specification.
If the rear arm breaks, the driver may lose control. Moreover, it can break suddenly with an audible crash. Other “symptoms” of breakdown: loud grinding and rattling, and when braking, the steering wheel can move at an angle of up to 45 degrees.
A total of 565 Taycan and Panamera 2021 units are being sent for repairs.
Moreover, Panamera has different modifications under recall: Turbo S, GTS, Panamera 4, 4 Sport Turismo, 4 Executive, 4 E-Hybrid, etc. During the free repair, the craftsmen will replace the discredited levers with new ones, whose specifications are questions no.
