After last year’s restyling, the Turbo version disappeared from the Porsche Macan range, and its place was actually taken by the Macan GTS. And now the family includes the new Macan T, whose letter prefix stands for Touring and refers to the “purist” variants of the 911 of the 1970s. The idea is the same: to make the car lighter and cheaper, but without sacrificing driving pleasure.
Porsche Macan T was created on the basis of the base Macan with a two-liter turbo four (265 hp and 400 Nm), and, like all cars of the family, it is equipped with a seven-speed PDK robot paired with PTM all-wheel drive. The choice of unit is easily explained: the load on the front axle here is almost 60 kilograms less than on the Macan S with a twin-turbo V6 2.9, which gives the car excellent dynamics and agility. By the way, the acceleration to “hundreds” of the Macan T takes the same time as that of the regular Macan – 6.2 seconds. The maximum speed is 232 kilometers per hour.
Sport Chrono package comes standard with a Sport Response button for sharper throttle and transmission response. The adaptive PASM suspension is paired with a 15mm lower body, stiffer anti-roll bars and a retuned drivetrain with a focus on the rear axle. For a surcharge, you can get air struts, a PTV Plus thrust vectoring system with an electronically controlled rear differential, plus another 10 millimeters to reduce ground clearance (a new option for four-cylinder Makans).
For the Macan T, 13 body color options are offered, but you can visually distinguish the “mother” from the rest by design elements in Agate Gray metallic. The standard sports seats are trimmed in Sport-Tex and leather. GT handlebar with Race-Tex microfiber wrap and carbon fiber inserts and an air ionizer are options.
Porsche is offering the Macan T at a starting price of UAH 2,229,730. The new model is already available for order, and the first “live” cars are expected from Ukrainian dealers in the summer of 2022.
