Seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton has shown and tested the production version of the Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar, which has become the most powerful car of the German brand. The corresponding video was posted on Facebook by a German company.
The production version of the hypercar doesn’t look much different from the prototype. The car received active aerodynamic elements, including a wing, which automatically extends when the control electronics are transferred to the extreme racing mode “R +”. In the interior of the novelty, a steering wheel of an unusual shape was installed.
The car was equipped with a hybrid power plant based on a 1.6-liter V6 turbo engine. This engine is used in the Formula 1 race cars of the Mercedes-AMG factory team. On Project One, the engine is paired with an electric motor on the rear axle. The front wheels of the hypercar are equipped with one more auxiliary electric motor. The total power of the units exceeds 1000 horsepower. The machine is also equipped with an eight-speed robotic gearbox.

The dynamic characteristics of the hypercar have not yet been disclosed. It is expected that Mercedes-AMG One will be able to accelerate from zero to the first “hundred” in about 2.5 seconds, and to accelerate to 200 km / h will take no more than six seconds. The maximum speed of the novelty exceeds 350 km per hour.
In total, the Germans will release 275 copies of the novelty. At the moment, all these cars are already sold out. Customers paid about $ 3 million for each car. They will receive the first hypercars by the end of this year.
