The Lynk & Co brand (created by Volvo and Geely) presented the top-end version of the coupe-like Lynk & Co 05+ crossover at the Chengdu Auto Show.
On the technical side, the novelty is unified with two other powerful models of the brand (Lynk & Co 03+ and 02 Hatchback), but here the 2.0-liter turbo engine of the Drive-E family is boosted with 254 hp. and 350 Nm to 265 hp. and 380 Nm.
The power unit is paired with an 8-speed Aisin automatic transmission and all-wheel drive with a BorgWarner multi-plate clutch on the rear axle. From standstill to 100 km / h, the Lynk & Co 05+ can accelerate in 6.5 seconds, that is, 0.6 seconds slower than its sister sedan, which also has four-wheel drive. The maximum speed of the novelty reaches 230 km / h.
Compared to the base model, the “charged” version has different springs and shock absorbers. The brakes of the Japanese company Akebono with four-piston mechanisms and discs with a diameter of 360 mm were used on the front axle. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S standard tires in 255/40 ZR20 dimensions.
According to the manufacturer, the braking distance from 100 km / h is only 34 meters. The exhaust system is complemented by a controllable flap that opens in the most aggressive driving modes. The latter, by the way, there are only six of them, including Sport and Performance.
Externally, the Lynk & Co 05+ crossover is distinguished by a sports body kit, which includes a rear wing, a front splitter, a diffuser in the rear bumper and other lining, designed “under carbon fiber”. It should be noted that all these elements are not just like that: at maximum speed, the body kit gives an additional downforce equivalent to 40 kilograms.
Inside the crossover there are seats with increased lateral support, suede trim and rich contrasting decor.
Lynk & Co 05+ crossovers will appear on the Chinese market before the end of this year, prices will be in the range of $ 40,000 – $ 43,000.
