Electric Cooper SE got a range of 270 kilometers. Sales in Europe will begin in November 2019.

After numerous teasers MINI unveiled rival electric cars e Honda, Peugeot e-208, Opel Corsa-e and other – in November 2019 will begin selling the new Cooper SE.

The car practically does not differ from the versions with traditional internal combustion engines. The electric motor is hidden under the hood along with power electronics. 184-HP engine using a single-stage reducer drives the front wheels. Li-ion battery by 32.6 kWh is T-shaped and integrated into the Central tunnel, allowing to maintain unchanged the amount of Luggage.

For the best protection of the high voltage battery ground clearance Cooper SE was increased by approximately 18 millimeters. The installation of the electric motor and battery made a hatchback 150 kilograms heavier than the petrol MINI Cooper S with automatic transmission.

The electric vehicle equipped with energy recovery system which decelerates the car when the pedal is released the gas. Unlike the BMW i3, from which it borrowed the power plant, for MINI has a function of selection intensity recovery.

0-100 km/h takes 7.3 seconds, maximum speed electric MINI is limited to 150 km/h. New supports charging AC and DC with connectors Type 2 and CCS Combo 2. Station 11 kW will enable 80% charge the battery for 2.5 hours, and the battery will be fully completed in 3.5 hours. A more powerful terminal on a 50 kW battery will charge 80% in 35 minutes.

The electric MINI has a yellow logo MINI Electric on the body, yellow or gray rear view mirrors and plates on filesresearch radiator. A feature of the car steel wheels unusual asymmetric design.

Already in the base Cooper SE is equipped with led headlights and a digital instrument panel, and regular navigation displays the location of charging stations.
