GM is investing heavily in the future of electric vehicles. The company plans to offer 30 new electric models by 2025, making it one of the largest players in the electric vehicle market. To keep customers interested in an all-electric future, brands had to come up with some attractive vehicles. GM did it with the GMC Hummer EV.
Most people know the Hummer as the official car of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the guys that appear on the TV show “Storage Hunters”. But GM and its GMC brand have turned the American beast upside down by offering it as an electric vehicle. But it has not yet been presented to the general public. That will change at the upcoming Motor Bella show at Hall M1 in Pontiac, Michigan.
GMC will release the pickup version earlier than the SUV, so this will definitely be a great opportunity to see this model a few months before it hits the road. It is also found to be in development for a new GM defense infantry command ship and a wide range of GM high-performance vehicles, including the next generation Camaro ZL1 race car and the Corvette C8.R.
“For decades, GM and Chevrolet have been at the forefront of automotive innovation, continually pushing the boundaries of new technology and precision engineering on racetracks, showrooms and the aftermarket. GM’s premiere at Motor Bella is a testament to the dedication and determination of our performance, motorsport and manufacturing team, ”said Jim Campbell, GM’s vice president of motorsport.
GM plans to begin production of the new Hummer in early 2023 at its ZERO plant in Detroit. In base form, the new Hummer pickup is expected to offer a whopping 625 horsepower and 10,027 Nm of torque, as well as a range of up to 480 km.
The EV3X package will increase the power to 830 hp. and 15 583 Nm of torque, the maximum power reserve is almost 500 km and accelerates to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds. The Hummer EV SUV is expected to cost $ 79,995 and the Edition 1 vehicle is expected to cost $ 105,595. The Motor Bella showroom will run from 23 to 26 September.
