This year at the contest “world car of the year 2020” (WCOTY) Taycan won 2 awards in the categories of “the Most luxurious car 2020” (World Luxury Car) and “Most productive car 2020” (World Performance Car).
Historic hat-trick, the first electric sports car Porsche Taycan reached in the nomination “the Most productive car 2020” together with 911 and 718 Spyder/Cayman GT4. He also won the award for “the Most luxurious car 2020”, stressing the status of the brand. 86 international automotive journalists has awarded more than 50 new cars. The winners were announced during an online conference WCOTY.
Michael Steiner, a member of the Board of Directors and head of the development Department of Porsche AG, received the awards. He noted that the double win in 2 categories underlines the company’s commitment in the development of Taycan.
“We wanted to create a completely driver-oriented, perfect electric sports car that can beat any car in terms of performance. We focused on everyday use and digital innovation, and comfort for four passengers. So happy that the jury WCOTY rewarded those efforts,” said Steiner.
