“Professional” electric car Geometry A


Geometry Auto (a subsidiary of Geely) has announced a variation of the Pro for the battery-powered sedan A (GE11). “Professional” electric car will be longer than usual by 16 mm (4752) and much more powerful than it: 150 kW (204 HP, 310 Nm) versus 120 kW (163 HP, 250 Nm). This means that acceleration to a hundred will occur faster than in 8.8 seconds. In addition, the Geometry A Pro will stand out with an increased range – 600 km instead of 410-500 (NEDC).

Oddly enough, the A Pro looks no different from the standard sedan (pictured). Perhaps the logos are blackened, and the front fenders are adorned with the “e500” and “e600” nameplates, indicating the range. There are probably some innovations in the salon that we do not know about yet.

The main competitors of Geometry A are GAC Aion S and BYD Qin Pro EV. Both are endowed with a maximum power of 135 kW (184 hp, 280-300 Nm) and run no more than 510-520 km without recharging on the NEDC cycle, although the Qin ad claims 650.

The timing of the launch of the “proshka” is not indicated, however, it will certainly perform at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 19-28. The sedan will just be two years old. The first incomplete year was relatively successful, with 12,662 units sold in nine months. In 2020, demand dropped to 4913-5051 for no apparent reason, except for such a price. Now they are in the range of 150,000-190,000 yuan (23,000-29,200 dollars). The Geometry C hatchback, available from June 2020 for 129,800-182,800 ($ 20,000-28,100), is no better accepted by buyers: 6383 units were sold in 10 months. Apparently, he will also have a Pro version.
